A few of the things the detachment keeps on the calendar — the community. These write-ups are sample stories, in the voice the detachment might use.
| Honor detail | Veterans | When a local veteran is laid to rest, National sends an honor detail with the flag and a few members who know the ceremony — the community. |
| Holiday drive | Community | Before the winter holidays, National fills the hall with gifts and groceries for local families — the community. |
| Scholarship evening | Community | Each spring the detachment awards a small scholarship and invites the family to the hall — the community. |
