- San Marcos, CA
VFW Post 3795 San Marcos. Its post has met since 1955 — San Marcos, CA. The charter came in the years after the Second World War and Korea, and the comrades who stayed treated the monthly meeting as a standing promise: show up, look after one another, and leave the town a little better.
The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the comrades hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.
The regular meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the comrades stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — San Marcos, CA.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — San Marcos, CA.
