VFW Post 2514 Dixon-Conderman. Its post has met since 1932 — New Bern, NC. The charter came in the years after the World Wars, and the comrades who stayed treated the monthly meeting as a standing promise: show up, look after one another, and leave the town a little better.

Notes from the first meeting

Showing up for the spring scholarship — New Bern
By spring the hall had the spring scholarship underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 2514 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — New Bern.
