- Legion Post #304
- Garfield Hts, OH
American Legion Post 304 Garfield Heights. Its post has met since 1927 — Garfield Hts, OH. The charter came in the years after the World Wars, and the Legionnaires who stayed treated the monthly meeting as a standing promise: show up, look after one another, and leave the town a little better.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Garfield Hts. The Legionnaires would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
The regular meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the Legionnaires stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — Garfield Hts, OH.
