- MCL Detachment #1257
- Wake Forest, NC
- 2nd Tuesday, 7:00 PM
In 1957 a handful of veterans chartered Detachment 1257 — Wake Forest, NC. From that first meeting the detachment grew into a hall that still marks the year with a memorial service, a community project, and a table full of people who know one another’s stories.
The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the members hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.
Meetings are 2nd Tuesday, 7:00 PM, at the hall — Wake Forest. This page is a sample so neighbors can see the shape of the work. The group itself has not claimed the page, so the stories here are an illustration, written in the voice the detachment might use.
